Sewing Machine Operator
Pay: $17.34/hour

Monday-Thursday
6:00AM - 4:30PM

We are looking for a
Sewing Machine Operator for our customer, a highly reputable and long-standing, local company with a
World-Wide reach, who prides themselves on supporting life in the face of adverse conditions; And who is dedicated to building the toughest shelter and field support systems on the market, in order to provide safe and comfortable working environments for their customers around the globe, located in
Eugene, Oregon.
As a Sewing Machine Operator, you will be responsible for::
- Construct assigned item(s) and components properly, following a combination of printed work instructions, integral samples, and verbal instructions.
- Inspect in-process materials to ensure proper cut, shade, compatibility and ensure that all materials are free of flaws.
- Operate single, double, multi-needle, and / or other types of sewing machines to create finished garments and / or other products.
- Perform various sewing duties to meet efficiency standards
- Attach buttons, hooks, collars, pockets, zippers, etc.
- Cross train and be able to operate efficiently in multiple areas to meet efficiency standards
- Assist in different aspects of the department as needed to help facilitate a smooth workflow quality control / assurance etc.
- Show ability over time to display proficiency on multiple machines and multiple products.
- Assure that all products are built to the highest standard of quality, working with Leads, Management and the Quality Department to assure maintained quality
- Keep workplace clean, tidy and in good condition.
- Return all tools and equipment to their designated spot after each use.
- Regularly inspect and clean equipment
- Notify supervisor and / or facilities maintenance immediately of any and all machines or equipment needing repair or maintenance
- Ensure that any damaged or excessively worn tools are taken out of service and notify supervisor of replacement needs in a timely fashion
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

NO 'Official' Sewing Experience Required! At-Home Project Experience at minimum is strongly preferred but On-The-Job Training will be Provided!

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- A Strong attention to detail is a MUST
- Must WANT to work and WANT to learn if newer to sewing
- Able to pick things up quickly and follow instructions
- Ability to lift / move up to 25 pounds of material without assistance.
- MUST have the understanding & ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time - Duration of a 10 hour shift aside from breaks
- Must be able to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts as instructed
- High school diploma or GED strongly preferred
- Basic and / or Industrial sewing knowledge preferred
