Job Title: Accounting Specialist – Urgently Hiring!
Pay: $25-30/hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday (8 hour days, flexible hours)

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist for a temp-hire position with our client, a manufacturing company headquartered in Salem, Oregon. The Accounting Specialist will support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting across multiple companies and locations. Success in this role means ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with all company policies and regulations. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and issuing invoices for daily shipments
- Setting up new customer accounts and completing credit checks
- Monitoring creditworthiness of existing accounts
- Processing check deposits
- Setting up vendor accounts and completing credit applications
- Processing vendor invoices with proper PO matching (3-way match)
- Reconciling credit cards, bank accounts, and general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Preparing bi-weekly bill pay reports and executing after approval
- Reviewing and processing employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
- Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
- Preparing and filing tax and insurance documents as needed
- Maintaining vendor W-9s and customer Sales Tax Exemption Certificates
- Assisting with payroll processing and audits as needed
- Helping create forms and procedures related to accounting policies
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently across different companies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of tax compliance and filings (preferred)
