Job Title: 2nd Shift Material Handler -  Start next week!

Pay: 18.60 Hours: 3 pm to 130 am Monday to Friday  Start Date: Orientations weekly on Mondays

We are seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler for a Seasonal position  for our client, a manufacturing company located in Independence, OR. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the organic materials flow through the shakers, informs the heavy equipment operator to fill the shakers, performs housekeeping duties which include scraping, sweeping and shoveling, stacking bags, and assists where necessary at the direction of the foreman. A Material Handler can adapt  to physical demands, including lifting, standing for an entire shift and working in various environments. Ultimately, success will be demonstrated by reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork in keeping operations running efficiently. This is an entry level production position  located in Independence, OR.

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining  the flow through the shakers by poking the material to break it up to prevent bridging
  • Maintaining the finishing screens by scraping them to insure the product flows through it
  • Performing  housekeeping duties to insure the material does not accumulate under the conveyors, aisle ways and cat-walks by following safety practices to avoid injuries
  • Meeting  quality and quantity standards
  • Informing  the maintenance personnel of any equipment problems in which they may encounter
  • Assisting  with small bag line operations as needed
  • Assisting  with re-stacking pallets and clean-up as needed
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Six months of prior production experience preferred but not required.
  • The ability to follow safety practices to insure their safety and the safety of others around you.
  • The ability to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/rainy weather
  • The ability to lift 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs on occasion
  • The ability to climb ladders and work on your feet for most of the day
