The Electrician will play an essential role in the hands on installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in the sawmill facility.  The ideal candidate will maintain an organized and safe environment while actively contributing to the efficient operation of machinery and equipment. As a Electrician, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, circuits, and machinery in the sawmill facility.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical malfunctions, including issues with motors, control panels, transformers, lighting, and power distribution systems.
  • Ensuring electrical wiring is up to code, safe, and functional for various sawmill equipment.  
  • Performing routine inspections of electrical equipment and systems to identify potential issues before they result in downtime.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Reporting electrical issues, maintenance requirements, and equipment failures to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Working closely with other maintenance and operational teams to ensure the smooth and continuous operation of sawmill equipment.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program (4-5 years)
  • Journeyman electrician license
  • Experience in industrial electrical systems and sawmill operations preferred. 
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
  • Continuous learning to keep up with changes in electrical codes and technology
