Job Title: Welder Fabricator
Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour, DOE Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30AM – 3:00PM Start Date: ASAPLooking for a hands-on role in a reputable, locally owned fabrication shop? Join a long-standing private fab shop specializing in precision metalwork as a Welder Fabricator in Eugene, Oregon, and make an impact every day.
As a Welder Fabricator, you’ll play a key role in producing high-quality welded and fabricated components for essential water pumping systems and custom industrial projects. You’ll work closely with a skilled fabrication team to ensure accuracy, craftsmanship, and safety in every piece you build.
What You’ll DoAs a Welder Fabricator, you will be responsible for:
Welding and fabricating vacuum chambers and fuel cells for water pumping stations
Studying blueprints and Bills of Material (BOMs) to determine materials and task sequence
Verifying material conformance using measuring tapes, squares, and rulers
Aligning and fitting parts according to specifications
Marking cutting and bending lines while accounting for thickness, shrinkage, and weld requirements
Positioning workpieces manually or with forklifts and overhead cranes
Setting up and operating fabrication machinery including brakes, rolls, shears, grinders, and drill presses
Preparing surfaces for welding by removing rust, slag, grease, moisture, and other contaminants
Clamping, tacking, grinding, bending, or bolting parts to achieve required configurations
Welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using manual or semi-automatic equipment
Monitoring welding and burning processes to prevent overheating, distortion, or warping
Inspecting completed workpieces for defects and ensuring specification compliance
Operating cranes safely and following proper protocols
Maintaining welding and related equipment
Learning company products and fabrication processes and accepting ongoing training
Maintaining consistent, reliable attendance
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
MIG welding experience with the ability to produce airtight welds
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Physical ability to lift, position, and maneuver metal parts safely
Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a skilled team
