Production Lead Job Summary
The Production Lead will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily
activities of the production staff. This key position will ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.
Production Lead Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily activities of assigned staff, including production, quality assurance, cleaning, and sanitation
- Ensure that production goals and objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner
- Monitor production performance, identify areas of improvement, and take corrective action as needed
- Ensure that production processes are carried out safely by team
- Ensure the highest level of food safety and quality standards are consistently upheld
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Train and mentor staff in the use of equipment and processes
- Uphold company policies and procedures in a consistent and fair manner
- Monitor inventory levels, proper stock rotation, and assist with production planning as required.
- Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Keep team motivated and on task throughout day, being mindful of time-sensitive needs and respond accordingly.
- Perform required documentation and record keeping including but not limited to: Lot Tracking of Ingredients, Production Output, Product Weight Checks, Metal Detector Checks.
- Verify that correct ingredients are being used in production batches
- Assist with Production work as required and other tasks as assigned
Production Lead Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to write clearly and legibly using pen and paper
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Able to follow GMP’s and Food Safety Regulations
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for superior quality of work for both self and team you are leading
- Able to work and lead in a fast-paced environment
- Able to perform all production functions and expected to work on the line as company needs dictate
- Comfortable and able to bend, stoop, twist, and lift in a safety conscious manner and be on your feet on a hard floor surface for the full duration of an 8 hour shift
- Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and be a team player
- Leadership experience in food manufacturing environment a big plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other related software a plus
Production Lead Work Schedule
Monday - Friday
Variable Schedule between 5:00am – 7:00pm
*Schedule will vary throughout week. Fridays are often shorter days, with Tuesday -
Thursday being longer work days. Flexibility to work any of these hours is a necessity.
Starting Pay Rate:
$24 – $27 per hour based on experience.
