Duties and Responsibilities for Health & Safety Manager:

  • Develop maintain, and communicate operations controls, standards, and work practices to meet legal and regulatory requirements for environmental health and safety.
  • Develop and implement EHS programs that promote safe work practices, employee engagement and improvement.
  • Ensure that all departments and Company's locations are in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, safety policies, procedures and standards
  • Drive, maintain and promote a positive safety conscious culture throughout the company
  • Arrange for required sampling, complete inspections, create, and submit reports accurately and on time, and keep records organized and accessible for inspection.
  • Assess training requirements and needs, develop, implement, conduct/coordinate and maintain safety training for the company
  • Proactively identify non-compliance issues and work with team to recommend/implement corrective actions on potential health, safety, and environmental hazards
  • Identify risk gaps, develop a prioritized action plan and guide implementation
  • Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Participate in setting goals and contributing to proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety and environmental agencies
  • Communicate technical and complex EHS concepts and requirements
  • Develop and oversee storm water pollution prevention plans, spill prevention control, air quality and waste minimization
  • Incident investigation-workplace injury/property damage
  • Facilitates company safety committee activity and meetings
  • Conducts and reports environmental testing
  • Perform inspections to evaluate health and safety issues.
  • Provide technical assistance to managers and employees
  • Respond to reports of unsafe work conditions
  • Facilitate of lead accident investigations on work related injuries and near miss events, establish and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Design and assist in auditing company process and procedure to ensure employees have the training and tools necessary to perform their job safely

Skills and Qualifications for Warehouse Worker:

  • 3+ years experience in the Safety Management Field REQUIRED
