Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Interface Engineer: - Conduct interface definition and revision to incorporate new system capabilities and spiral development changes that affect the interface. - Develop and update XML schemas (.xsd files) to support multiple Interface Control Documents (ICDs). - Work with multiple ICD authors and participate in multiple technical working groups. - Apply knowledge of the system domain and interface exchange requirements. - Function as part of an experienced team in developing systems engineering products and artifacts. Required Skills for Interface Engineer: - Minimum of 9 years professional experience with a bachelor's degree, or 7 years with a related master's degree. - Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering. Master's Degree in an Engineering Discipline is desirable. - Experience with interface engineering, message definition and processing rules, message formatting (e.g. XML, VMF, etc.), and network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, etc.). - Experience working with IBM Rational's Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS). - U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance and government/federal contracts.
