IDR is seeking a Production AI Software Engineer II to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you’ll help internal teams design and deliver AI-enabled solutions by translating ambiguous needs into practical architectures, prototypes, and production-ready systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment (digital entertainment/technology industry) focused on building scalable AI capabilities that improve workflows and end-user experiences.
Position Overview for the Production AI Software Engineer II:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify high-impact AI use cases and shape solution approaches from concept to production
- Design AI-enabled architectures integrating model APIs, agents, enterprise context, and existing internal systems
- Build prototypes and production services, contributing reusable patterns and shared platform components
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across applications, APIs/integrations, and cloud infrastructure
- Promote reliable, secure, maintainable solutions through monitoring, documentation, and operational best practices
Requirements for the Production AI Software Engineer II:
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or TypeScript (or similar modern languages)
- Experience building and operating backend services, internal platforms, or distributed systems
- Hands-on experience implementing generative AI capabilities (e.g., model APIs, agents, retrieval systems, or similar)
- Experience working with APIs and cloud environments (e.g., AWS or GCP) and debugging production issues
