Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately administering ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions and established protocols. This role involves working closely with radiation oncologists and clinical staff to ensure patient comfort, safety, and successful treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician, ensuring correct dose delivery to the appropriate treatment area.

Review and interpret treatment prescriptions; ensure proper use of set-up accessories and radiation safety measures.

Perform precise tumor localization using imaging equipment and treatment systems.

Maintain accurate electronic medical records, including CT/Sim setup information, photographs, and daily treatment documentation.

Monitor patients during treatments, reporting complications or adverse effects to the medical team.

Perform regular machine safety checks and report any operational inconsistencies or equipment concerns.

Assist physicists in maintaining treatment equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.

Collaborate with radiation oncologists and dosimetrists in the preparation of customized treatment plans.

Obtain and review weekly port films and maintain accurate billing records on a daily basis.

Educate and support patients throughout the treatment process, explaining procedures and monitoring side effects.

Ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards outlined by the radiation therapist code of ethics.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate in Radiation Therapy required.

ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy preferred.

Strong clinical background in Radiation Oncology; RTs with extensive radiation therapy experience will be considered.

Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and treatment planning systems.

Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of radiation safety principles and machine operation limits.

CPR certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
