IDR is seeking a DBA to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves managing large-scale PostgreSQL databases within a healthcare-related environment, supporting critical applications, and ensuring high availability and security.
Position Overview for the DBA:
- Manage and optimize large-scale PostgreSQL databases in cloud environments
- Architect, implement, and maintain high-availability solutions using AWS RDS
- Collaborate with application teams to support new features and performance improvements
- Develop backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Monitor and enhance database security, performance, and capacity planning
Requirements for the DBA:
- Minimum of 10 years of strong and relevant experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator, specifically for large scale applications
- Extensive experience with AWS RDS Postgres, including setup, configuration, and management
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and administration
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience developing and reviewing complex PL/pgSQL functions, procedures, and other database objects
- Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
