Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Staff Software Engineer:

  • Lead complex software development initiatives, demonstrating active coding responsibilities alongside team management within Python and FastAPI

  • Work within a highly collaborative, engineering-first culture that values clean architecture, ownership, and long-term thinking

  • Leverage proficiency in Python and FastAPI

  • Develop scalable and resilient applications using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Docker

  • Solve real-world healthcare challenges, such as building infrastructure to support massive amounts of diagnostic and longitudinal health data

  • Adhere to software engineering principles and practices, including Agile methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)

  • Build and maintain large-scale systems, demonstrating the ability to handle projects of significant complexity and scale within Python and FastAPI

Required Skills for Staff Software Engineer:

  • At least 12 years of proven experience in software engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership capacity within a startup environment

  • Extensive experience in software development, with proficiency in Python and FastAPI

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Docker

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, including Agile methodologies, TDD & CI/CD
