Joshua Mergl

Hello there!

My name is Josh, and I am a Talent and Client Relations Manager for Cell Staff, working hand in hand with the Alaska Department of Corrections! My job is to go out and find the best, brightest, and most qualified medical professionals and bring them on board to learn and experience the world of Correctional and Mental Health nursing across the country!

I am a Navy Veteran. I enlisted in July of 2008 and was honorably discharged in July of 2013. During that period, I served as a Navy Hospital Corpsman with Marine Corps units and served in Afghanistan in 2010 and all around the world in 2012 as a part of an Emergency Response Force.

I grew up in Boston and moved to Tampa in 2015. I have been with Cell Staff for the last 5 years, and to watch it grow into what it is now is an incredible sight to behold. When I am not recruiting, you can typically find me spending time with my wife and two sons out and about in the Tampa area, usually at a brewery or two.

Growing up in Boston, I am a die-hard Boston Bruins fan, so if you like hockey, let's talk hockey.

Why I love to recruit
Hearing how much someone loves the assignment after placement and how it is such a breath of fresh air is so incredibly rewarding. Knowing that something so small as a job switch can make all the difference in someone's life is a surreal feeling.

When I'm not working I like to
I am usually around with my wife and two sons out and about. And if not there, I am usually at a local brewery with friends or at the gym! I try to keep my life as simple and rewarding as I can. The little things in life make it that much more enjoyable.
