Business Analyst - Contract - Hybrid

For our direct client located near Norwalk, CT - we are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Analyst (BA) to bridge business needs with technical solutions and deliver high-quality outcomes that drive organizational success. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days/week onsite.  Location is easily reachable by car, not far off the Merritt Parkway, but not easy to reach via train.  The BA plays a critical role in translating business requirements into actionable solutions, ensuring alignment with objectives and quality standards. This involves understanding business domains, customer needs, and software requirements, while managing inspections, resolving issues, and optimizing results. Effective collaboration across time zones and global teams, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance technical and business expectations are essential for success in this role.   Role and Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Management: Gather, document, and refine business, functional, and technical requirements to ensure clarity and completeness. Participate in requirements reviews and discovery sessions.
  • Analysis & Solution Design: Develop key documentation such as Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specification Documents (FSD), user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams using tools like Jira, DevOps, Lucid chart, or Visio. Collaborate with technical teams to design scalable and effective solutions.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Partner with QA teams to clarify requirements, prepare test cases, and validate deliverables. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate the testing process.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Change Management: Serve as the liaison between stakeholders and technical teams. Communicate project updates, risks, and changes effectively. Manage updates to requirements and train users on new systems or features.
  • Project & Risk Management: Identify risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to peer and external reviews, foster teamwork, and share business and product knowledge to mentor team members.
  Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Business Analyst is preferred. Methodologies & Tools:
  • Proficient in Agile and Scrum methodologies; active participation in Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprints, retrospectives).
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools for project and documentation management.
  • Skilled in business process modeling (e.g., BPMN) and creating actionable documentation.
Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with UAT, including developing scripts and conducting cross-browser/device testing.
  • Knowledge of APIs, third-party system integrations, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
Risk & Change Management: Demonstrated experience assessing risks and leading or supporting change management efforts during software implementations. Soft Skills:
  • Results-driven, adaptable, and self-motivated.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Software Solutions Lead – Long-term Contract – Hybrid

Our direct client in Northern NJ is seeking an experienced Software Solutions Lead to help design software functionality that will enable the business to tackle new types of client opportunities. The client has a large, custom application used globally across their business, and the system is flexible enough to accommodate new business workflows.

In this role, the Solutions Lead will be part of a large software development practice, leveraging technical software design skills and knowledge of custom software functionality to partner with the business and technical teams. The goal is to define, build, and deliver new application functionality that meets evolving business needs. We are specifically looking for someone who is product-focused and able to think strategically about aligning technology solutions with business objectives. Experience with AI-driven solutions is a strong plus.

This is an immediate hire position, offered as a long-term contract (18–36 months+) with potential to convert to a permanent employee role if mutually desired.

The client is located in Northern NJ, and the position is hybrid: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in the office for close collaboration with SMEs and technical team members, and 2 days working remotely. Candidates in the Dallas, TX or Orlando, FL areas will also be considered.

Desired Experience:
  • 8+ years working on custom software development projects
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Solutions Lead, Solutions Engineer, Software Development Manager, or Product Owner/Manager
  • Strong product mindset, with experience shaping and delivering product-focused solutions
  • Experience with commercial software product development or large-scale internal corporate software product initiatives is a must
  • Experience in Microsoft/Azure custom development environments is a plus
  • Experience with AI/ML-enabled solutions is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Overview:

Our client a commercial lender specializing in asset-based lending, is seeking a VBA Developer for a short-term contract project focused on adapting an existing VBA model for Mac OS compatibility.

The VBA model, used for borrowing base certificates, integrates with the firm’s internal software platform via API. The goal of this project is to ensure the model functions seamlessly across both Windows and Mac environments while maintaining all existing features.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, debug, and update existing VBA code to ensure full functionality on Mac OS.

  • Test the updated workbook thoroughly on Mac to confirm seamless operation.

  • Validate all features and workflows after debugging to ensure no loss of functionality.

  • Work independently while maintaining clear communication with the internal team.

  • Collaborate directly with the Director on project requirements and progress.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong VBA debugging and development expertise.

  • Proven experience ensuring Mac OS compatibility for VBA applications.

  • Hands-on experience with web interactions within VBA.
