Senior Cloud Security Architect - Contractor

Remote—United States | Long-Term Contract: 12–24 Months

For our direct client, a prestigious global organization, we seek an experienced IT professional to join the team in a high-impact role shaping the security of complex, cloud-based applications and platforms. We’re seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect who combines deep technical expertise with a proactive, practical approach to risk.

Responsibilities:
  • Design secure, scalable cloud and application architectures.

  • Develop security frameworks, standards, threat models, and architectural blueprints.

  • Partner with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to embed security throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.

  • Conduct security assessments and risk analyses, documenting risks and mitigating controls.

  • Guide development teams and provide technical leadership on application, identity, network, and cloud security.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend security improvements.

Desired Experience:  
  • 10+ years of experience across security architecture, cloud security, application security, threat modeling, identity and authentication, penetration testing, cryptography, or network security.

  • Strong expertise with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and their security capabilities.

  • Deep understanding of security frameworks and standards, including NIST, CIS, CSA, ISO, and OWASP.

  • Experience securing cloud-native applications, microservices, and CI/CD environments.

  • Strong software architecture or development background; familiarity with Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript is valuable.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • CISSP, CISM, Azure Cybersecurity Expert, or a comparable certification is highly desirable.
