Sr. Manager, Data Engineering & Analytics  For our direct client in Northern New Jersey, a prestigious global firm, we seek an experienced technology & database leader to lead the data and analytics applications within a large global application platform.  This is a long-term contract role 12-36 months+ ) and requires 3 days/week onsite to work with the team.  In this role, the candidate will lead the technology roadmaps and technology strategy, design, delivery, and evolution of enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions. This role owns technical direction and strategy, delivery outcomes, and team leadership for data initiatives that support business decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term data strategy. This is a hands-on leadership role—setting architecture and standards, managing delivery across vendors and internal teams, and serving as the senior technical partner to business and IT stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
  • Build and own the technology strategy for the D&A portfolio.
  • Own the end-to-end data engineering and analytics solution portfolio, from strategy through implementation and ongoing optimization
  • Lead and mentor data engineers and consultants, providing technical direction, standards, and delivery oversight
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the company's international offices.
  • Partner with business leaders and product owners to translate objectives into scalable data architectures and roadmaps
  • Define and evolve enterprise data platforms leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Databricks and complementary cloud technologies
  • Oversee design and implementation of data ingestion, transformation, analytics, and reporting pipelines
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, security, quality, and compliance
  • Manage delivery with internal teams and external development partners, ensuring timelines, quality, and ROI
  • Evaluate emerging data, analytics, and AI/ML technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives where appropriate
  • Support executive reporting, KPI frameworks, and advanced analytics use cases across multiple business domains
Required Qualifications
  • 10–15+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or data architecture, with leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data platforms and modernization initiatives
  • Strong expertise with cloud data ecosystems (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP experience a plus)
  • Hands-on understanding of Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, data lakes, data warehouses, and modern analytics architectures
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and data integration frameworks
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, and cross-functional delivery teams
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders
Preferred Experience
  • Financial services, fintech, or regulated enterprise environments
  • Exposure to AI/ML, MLOps, or GenAI pilots within analytics platforms
  • Background establishing centers of excellence or data standards at scale
