I am somebody who has passion towards everything I do. I enjoy helping great people find rewarding nursing experiences in excellent hospitals and locations. I was a high school science teacher for seven years, then a stay at home dad before working at Atlas MedStaff. I've been surrounded by healthcare professionals my entire life. My mom was a pediatric nurse, my sister is a primary care nurse, my dad was an internal medicine physician and my wife is a physician. I truly believe that working as a travel nursing recruiter allows me to continue teaching/helping/educating, but in a field that provides more schedule flexibility for our family than teaching does. (And it turns out I like talking to nurses more than adolescents who don't want to learn chemistry!)
I have a lot of things that I like doing when I'm not working. In fact, I'm very good at adding hobbies and bad at getting rid of them. Our family taps 1100 maple trees each spring and makes maple syrup. I keep bees. We have chickens. I love endurance sports like triathlons and marathons. I've got a couple of races planned for this year, but the big goal is to complete the Abbot World Major Marathons all under three hours. Four are complete, two to go! With all of these activities, I try to include my kids (8 & 6) to the best of my ability, not so they necessarily like the same stuff that I do, but they learn to be passionate about something they enjoy.
Why I love recruiting...
I like helping people by providing honest, transparent, straight forward advice. It is very rewarding to learn what motivates a nurse to become a travel nurse and help them reach their goals.
When I'm not working, I love to...
Watch TV--Hahaha--nope. Make maple syrup, keep bees, bike, run, fish, canoe, ski, camp, grill, make beer, drink beer
Peter genuinely cares. He laughs at my jokes. He has never led me astray. He keeps me focused. He encourages me in every aspect of my life. I would definitely call him a friend. I care about him, his family and his extensive hobbies. I admire his ambition and energy. He is contagious! Night shift nurses need a little extra encouragement to stay compliant. He gives me that.
He goes above and beyond. He offered if I was in the area when driving across the US, he would take me out for lunch. When I worked with other recruiters, he sent me interview questions. He has always been honest and forthcoming with me. Very friendly and personable.
Peter is always very responsive and knowledgeable. I have only had one issue and he resolved it very quickly. I will definitely keep working with him in the future and refer him to anyone looking to start traveling
Peter has been one of the most genuine, transparent people I have met in this industry. It is clear that he cares about his nurses and wants the best for them and it’s very refreshing. His high character sets him apart from other recruiters I have met.

Peter was very communicative and extremely friendly throughout the whole process AND afterwards! He made to sure to reach out and make sure everything was what I hoped it would be, and if it wasn't he was there with a helping hand. He is honest and reliable and makes building a relationship with you a priority! I consider him a friend along with a recruiter and thats all you can ask for when you are trusting someone with your career!!
