Service Engineer Stoke-on-Trent Competitive Salary & Company Van Introduction Astute are currently looking for a Site/Field Service Engineer who has a multi-skilled engineering background to join a leading company within the food processing industry to work on their sites across Stoke-on-Trent. You will be carrying out inspections, operations, and maintenance to be delivered safely, on-time and in budget to ensure maximum availability of the sites. Roles & Responsibilities As the Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Conduct planned field service activities of all types including service, breakdowns, installations, and commissioning support within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure the customer is fully informed on all activities especially when there are issues identified that may require additional costs or have an influence on the operation or life of the asset.
  • Effective communication with the service office with regards to additional parts required, technical difficulties identified and the need for specialist input as appropriate.
  • Ensure correct working methods are used and conducted in accordance with QSHEE requirements and Health & Safety Policies
  • Be available for work over weekend periods as required to fulfil the business activities.
  • Be available to work on a ROTA basis for breakdown cover and out of hours technical support.
Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field service of industrial equipment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong mechanical competency through a recognised qualification.
  • Some basic electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively around the UK to customer sites with frequent nights away from home.
  • Valid driving licence

EC&I Technician – CHiP Beckton Competitive Salary + Benefits

 

Introduction… We are looking for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance Department of a Combined Heat and Power facility in East London. Utilising the latest technology, the site is producing 17MW of Heat & Power from used fats, oils and greases (FOGS) from the local area.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Electrical Engineer, as an EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out fault diagnosis, repairs, planned and unplanned maintenance activities on all EC&I assets to ensure efficient operation of the site and to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters as well as DCS and PLC control systems. Electrical maintenance work on motors, switchgear, generators etc would also be required
  • Programming the sites DCS/PLC equipment
  • Supervising and directing contractors
  • Maintaining the continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
  • Assisting in plant shutdowns and outages
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Updating work order records through the sites CMMS.
  • Assisting the Operations team with out of hours technical support.

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A relevant technical qualification such as an HNC/ONC in electrical or C&I engineering
  • At least three years’ experience in EC&I maintenance, post apprenticeship, in a heavy process environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical plant, paper mill, refinery, steel works etc).
  • Experience with control systems (DCS, SCADA, PLC’s) and instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level etc) equipment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of HV/MV/LV electrical systems
  • Ideally an IOSH or NEBOSH or Health & Safety Qualification
  • A flexible approach to working hours

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Technician to join the maintenance department of this plant. The technician responsible for pre-planned and reactive maintenance work around the site to ensure minimal downtime.
