IR35: In Scope Pay Rate to Candidate: PAYE - £38.21/hour, UMB - £51.89/hour Minimum Requirement: To provide fit for purpose engineering solutions for projects or engineering support on more complex projects. To ensure that design authority standards and configuration control are applied appropriately. • Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project. • Contribute to production of Project Execution Plan including design, safety case and commissioning strategies. • Support project optioneering process. • Develop concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects • Produce and/or approve project technical specifications. • Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards. • Prepare modification proposals as required, acting as a Nominated Responsible Engineer where appointed. • Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instructions/method statements/risk assessments. • Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent. • Approve as built drawings. • Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning. • Manage hand over to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions and training have been supplied as required. • Liaise and consult with system engineers and other stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. • Maintain site configuration control throughout project lifecycle. Skills/Experience: • Experience in a practising disciplined Engineering role (Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I) on industrial plant. • Experience of nuclear and/or conventional project engineering • Understanding of relevant Company and/or national engineering standards. • Experience of working in highly regulated industry – nuclear preferred. • 18-24m of UK based experience. • Able to communicate well with clients, designers & SMEs. The Mechanical Technician roles comes with a day rate from £350.00 to £450.00.

 

 

Key skills and responsibilities: 

 

• To assist in the planning and organising of the mechanical maintenance and repairs of plant and equipment in specific allocated areas of responsibility
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs whilst working on own initiative without supervision
• To assist in surveys and inspections of plant and equipment and take corrective action as required by Company Procedures
• Inspect and supervise all work carried out by contractors to ensure that the work meets the required standards
• Ensure that repairs and planned maintenance are completed in a timely manner and carried out by skilled / qualified staff
• Work closely with the Commissioning Engineers to commission the plant.
• Report any reoccurring, serious and / or unusual defects to the engineering team and take corrective action in accordance with Company procedures
• To ensure that plant and equipment are suitable and sufficient for activities to be compliant with legislation and licensing requirements
• Carry out calibrations and verify a variety of measuring devices.
• Ensure health and safety and security in own area of responsibility
• Understand and manage risks and hazards associated with site and undertaking associated Risk Assessments
• Implement work procedures and work instructions including site safety rules
• Day-to-day communication with the Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer.
• Report accidents and near misses and participate in investigations
• Experience working within the Power Industry as a Mechanical Technician.

Key skills and responsibilities: 

 

• Updating and maintaining maintenance records within the internal systems.
• Requiring the minimum of supervision, you will be highly self-motivated, having a can-do attitude with an eye for identifying and recommending maintenance improvement opportunities
• Actively contribute to the safe, efficient and cost-effective running of the OCGT plant.
• Developing knowledge of Control Systems once set up.
• Required to work at height and work in confined spaces.
• Able to work with Computers with sound knowledge of the suite of Microsoft Office products
• Flexible approach to hours of work, particularly during plant outages when weekends, nights and bank holidays will have to be worked

Key skills and responsibilities: 

• Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as, transformers, medium/low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, motorized valves, instruments etc. Fully competent at using Primary & Secondary Injection test set equipment.
• Assist the commissioning engineers in carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols
• Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.
• Preparation of the site for the electrical team to plan ahead for site works.
• Report to the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer for this project.

The Site Lead C&I Commissioning Engineer role comes with a day rate from £500.00 to £550.00.

 

 

Key skills and responsibilities: 

• Leading the team of C&I Commissioning Engineers and Technicians throughout the commissioning of electrical components and instruments such as motorized and pneumatic valves, instruments, transmitters, loop checks, etc.
• Carrying out testing on instrumentation against the whole loop (DCS to field), as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols
• Carrying out calibration or verification of the calibration using HART communicator, current/voltage generator etc.
• Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.
• Work closely with the Leads for the other disciplines. 
• Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.
