Responsibilities and duties of the EC&I Engineer roleReporting to the Engineering Manager you will:
EC&I DeliveryProduce CE&I design concepts including SLDs, BCDs, cable schedules and layout drawings
Develop designs that conform to relevant British and European standards and client requirements
Produce and maintain LTQR / Technical Files in accordance with Quality Management Systems
Ensure designs address operability, maintainability and safety considerations
Deliver designs in line with agreed project programmes and budgets
Produce design justification reports demonstrating mitigation of identified technical risks
Develop functional safety and controls documentation including FDS, SIDD and Functional Safety Plans
Produce technical specifications, drawings and works instructions to enable manufacturing
Check in-house and subcontract drawing documentation
Produce FAT and SAT documentation and attend commissioning activities
Manage subcontract suppliers
Interpret and create EC&I engineering drawings using AutoCAD
Support safety interlock design activities (preferred)
Author engineering reports including basis of design, substantiation and calculation reports
Support HVAC control systems design (highly desirable)
Maintain personal, professional and technical competency through CPD
Develop design and engineering solutions in collaboration with internal specialists and supply chain partners
Consolidate and collate design documentation for internal approvals and client submission
Support business continuity in line with company objectives
Contribute to project success through effective internal communication
Recognise commercial impacts of engineering decisions
Maintain effective working relationships across company functions
Promote company expertise and capability through professional engagement
Provide technical responses to client and internal enquiries
Support tender and contract reviews with technical and commercial input
Assist with preparation of tender responses, costings and schedules
Identify scope modifications and support cost/variation estimates
We are looking for someone with the following:
Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC or demonstrable equivalent experience (Essential)
Broad-based engineering experience in design and manufacturing (Essential)
Design of electrical systems (Essential)
Low voltage control gear experience (Essential)
Control systems experience (Essential)
Desirable:
Membership of an appropriate professional body
IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety (or equivalent)
Knowledge of drawing principles and standards
Understanding of CE marking requirements
AutoCAD experience
Machine Safety Directives / Functional Safety knowledge
HAZOP / HAZID experience
Experience in Functional Safety (BS EN 61508 & 61511)
The EC&I Engineer role would suit someone who is:
Detail-oriented and technically strong in EC&I design
Safety-focused with experience in regulated environments
Able to manage multiple technical deliverables
Commercially aware and capable of supporting tender activities
Comfortable liaising with clients, subcontractors and commissioning teams

We are looking for someone with the following:
Experience within the Nuclear sector
Experience in the manufacture and fitting of mechanical components
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
Experience working in site and factory environments
Lifting & Slinging experience
The following qualifications would be desirable:
Advanced Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 4 or BTEC
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline
CSCS Card
The Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who is:
Safety conscious and highly compliant in regulated environments
Detail-oriented with strong technical and practical capability
Able to work independently on a busy operational site
A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with site teams
Desirable attributes include:
Welding experience
Pipe fitting experience
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards
12-month minimum contract
Outside IR35

IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
Experience in electrical installation, examination, maintenance, inspection & test and decommissioning
Fully conversant with IEE Regulations
Experience working in site and/or factory environments
Work experience within engineering, science or construction environments
Desirable:
Experience working on a nuclear licensed site or similar high-hazard environment
