Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role Reporting to the Group Directorship, you will:

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental permits, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and develop site teams, contractors, and technical personnel to meet operational and performance targets
  • Oversee plant maintenance, reliability, and asset performance, ensuring minimal downtime

    Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:    
  • Relevant engineering qualifications, i.e. BTEC, NVQ, HNC, HND or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a Field Engineer role or similar hands-on mechanical engineering position.
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, with experience of pump systems or rotary equipment highly advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering diagrams.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential; forklift and/or telehandler licence advantageous.

Astute’s Biogas Team has been exclusively appointed to search for a Plant Manager in Wiltshire on an anaerobic digestion plant with 3MW of installed capacity. The Plant Manager role is a key role on site and we’re open to people from biogas or related process industry. A technical mindset with a solutions-focussed approach is what we’re after.   • A degree or HND/C in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven experience managing and developing people
  • Experience with CMMS, EA and PAS110 is hugely beneficial
  • Anaerobic digestion experience is hugely preferred but not essential. We will consider candidates from similar industry
