Responsibilities and duties of the General Foreman role

Within the role you will:

• Take overall responsibility for supervising and delivering site activities safely, on time, and within budget

• Manage and coordinate site teams including Section Foremen, Site Engineers, and Assurance Engineers

• Oversee subcontractors to ensure works are completed in line with contractual requirements and production targets

• Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery, storage, and maintenance of materials, plant, and equipment

• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Site Management Team on work programmes and method statements

• Lead site inspections to ensure compliance with health & safety standards, method statements, and risk assessments

• Ensure all personnel are briefed on safe systems of work including toolbox talks and task briefings

• Support the Project Manager in implementing changes directed by the client

• Monitor site performance and address any issues relating to quality, safety, or productivity

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Relevant construction or engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC/HND, or equivalent preferred)

• Valid CSCS Card

• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and contractor responsibilities

• Experience using company systems (e.g., Themis or similar)

• Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role on construction projects

Salary and benefits of the General Foreman role

• Full-time position (40 hours per week)

• £45,000 – £50,000 basic salary

• £5,000 car allowance
