Introduction
We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Chemist to work with one of the UK’s leading waste management service providers who focus on the disposal and collection of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Working as their Commercial Chemist, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations across the waste facility ensuring customer enquiries are dealt with effectively, ensuring the highest standards of customer service.
The Role
Working as their Commercial Chemist, you will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for:

Supporting the commercial team, ensuring all customer enquiries are dealt with efficiently, achieving a high standard of customer care with both new and existing customers.

Obtaining all relevant information surrounding incoming enquiries to support with pricing, allocation and routing of waste materials.

Using technical knowledge to assess waste and choose most suitable disposal outlets for waste streams.

Compiling lists of wastes’ to be transferred off site to third party disposal points, sending quotation requests to obtain best disposal costs.

Ensuring accurate costings in line with all permit conditions and legislation, using Quick Consign systems to produce accurate quotes for customers.

Work to meet site targets for processing, producing monthly reports for key accounts.

Promoting the business within the waste management market, recognising new business opportunities.

Undertake all administration tasks as needed and any other tasks.
The Candidate
To be considered for this position, candidates must have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level or equivalent experience.
Candidates should have experience working in a Site-based Chemist or Technical Assessment role with a good understanding of the Waste Management/ Hazardous Waste industry.
