Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Waste Manager to join one of the industry leaders in hazardous waste management across the UK as part of their core team, providing technical, managerial and customer service support at their incineration site in Dorset. Working as the Senior Waste Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and delivering radioactive waste projects whilst using professional, scientific engineering and project management principles.
Roles & Responsibilities
Working as the Senior Waste Manager, you will be responsible for:

Managing and supporting the Technical Project Management team

Head monthly forecasts whilst collaborating with the Financial Business Partner, Operations Manager and SHEQ Manager

Working to budgets and costing ensuring projects fall within and adhere to Tradebe’s internal management systems and procedures.

Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Commercial and Operations, developing plans, bids and solutions to ensure client needs are fully understood and met.

Contributing development ideas and solutions for Business Strategy to grow the business.

To be the main contributor and leader in the development for weekly and monthly financial forecast and budgeting of the forward service delivery work plan

Support and approach bidding and managing the delivering of technically complex radioactive waste management contracts from a technically biased perspective.

Regularly delivering Team Performance updates to the Head of Service Delivery

Assisting the Head of Radioactive with the management of projects and tasks and managing the full cycle of other project management tasks in other teams as and when required

Securing and developing resources

Carrying out project and technical risk assessments and minimising risks as and when possible
-
Provide technical leadership, advice and guidance to both the project management team and customers.

Being the first and main point of contact with senior contacts at different disposal sites such as industrial, nuclear, waste recycling and disposal sites
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
A degree or equivalent level in Chemistry, Physics, Radiochemistry or Nuclear Engineering

An understanding of Radioactive waste management or decommissioning within the Radioactive/ Waste sector.

Experience with working for commercial or regulated industry clients.

Project management or Technical Account Management of key clients.

Professional qualification/accreditation in Science, Engineering, Project Management or Radiation Protection, e.g. CChem, CEng, APMP, RWA (desirable)
