Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with
an international leader in nuclear power to recruit an Environmental Engineer for its Bristol based office. Working on Sizewell C and Hinkley Point C, you will ensure the designs meets required regulations and standards, compliant with the UK’s Nuclear and Environmental Legislation.
The Environmental Engineer role comes with a base salary up to £65,000 with life assurance, professional body memberships, 9% minimum pension (8% ER contributions) and 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Environmental Manager
you will:
- Contribute and manage topics relating to environmental matters for systems and buildings within the designs.
- Support in the design process, construction, and commissioning phases with technical requests and design changed.
- Review reports in conjunction with other design entities.
- Involvement in Assessment Findings from regulators.
- Support systems engineering and layout engineering departments to ensure functional requirements, waste streams, and other environmental monitoring topics.
- Oversee the Chemical Production Inventory and COMAH justifications.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Educated to a degree level in environmental related topics, e.g sustainability, environmental engineering, ecology, geology.
Personal skills
The Environmental Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced working in an Environmental position within Engineering projects.
- Knowledge of environmental implementation requirements and environmental studies.
