Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market leading energy company to recruit a Regional Environmental Compliance Lead to cover their Scottish region of Energy from Waste Power Stations and Waste Transfer Stations..   The fundamental Regional Environmental Compliance Lead role comes with a salary of £57,200 + car allowance + up to 10% Bonus + private healthcare + other benefits.   • Ensuring compliance with sit environmental permits or licences as well as specific working plans including administration and audits
  • Driving environmental performance improvement through behavioural change
  • Ensure functional managers within the business understand their responsibilities for managing the environmental impact of their operations
  • Monitoring, reviewing and recommending management system improvements driven by information using leading indicators
  • Produce Environmental reports for submission for all levels of the business and external stakeholders
  • Ensure sites are fully prepared for internal and external audits relating to ISO, environmental and compliance aspects
  • Taking and recording fuel and by-product samples for analysis in accordance with designated procedures, against the reference criterion, e.g. EP, ROCs, MCERTS and CEMS
Full job spec available upon request     Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A Degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject such as Environmental Science, etc.
    Personal skills, experience and knowledge The Regional Environmental Compliance Lead role would suit someone who has:
  • Experience working in a highly regulated, heavy process, industry such as Power Generation (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, etc), Refineries, Water Treatment, etc.
  • Willingness to travel when required, with overnight stays
  • Experience working with continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS)
  • Awareness of the relevant management standards ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO50001.
  • Familiar of hazardous characteristics of incinerator bottom ash (IBA)
  • Experience in producing environmental reports and submitting to the Environment Agency (EA)
