The vital Lead Mechanical Engineer role comes with a basic salary of £58,100 - £87,100 + a performance related bonus + other excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

Delivering effective outage strategies and management of projects

Optimising the planned maintenance strategy to meet stakeholders needs to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime

Provide technical expertise and guidance to other departments in relation to Balance of Plant (BoP) with a focus on maximising efficiency, plant performance and safety

Provide technical governance, guidance and industry best practice including compliance with PSST and statutory inspections

Budget ownership and contract management of strategic suppliers and management of mechanical contract partners
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
Ideally a Degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline however, would consider those with a HND/HNC/NVQ Level 3, etc.

A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Lead Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who has:
-
Prior Mechanical Engineering experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations, Paper Mills, Top Tier COMAH sites, Refineries, Petrochemicals, etc.

Experience working with Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) would be advantageous

Knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) will be advantageous

Demonstrate the ability to successful manage teams
