The vital Lead Mechanical Rotating Plant Engineer role comes with a basic salary of £58,100 - £87,100 + a performance related bonus + other excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

The management of the sites rotating equipment which includes the 2 GE 9FA Gas Turbines, D11 Steam Turbine and other rotating plant.

Leadership of the Rotating Plant team of technicians & engineers.

Delivery of the outage strategy and management of projects as well as enhancing the planned maintenance strategy

Ownership of the budget and contract management of key strategic suppliers

To ensure health, safety & environmental compliance, along with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements

Assisting in continuous improvement such as plant developments, modifications, and projects
-
Supervising and setting to work on site contractors.

To ensure the availability of plant spares
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
Ideally a Degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline however, would consider those with a HND/HNC/NVQ Level 3, etc.

A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Lead Mechanical Rotating Plant Engineer role would suit someone who has:

Prior experience working with mechanical systems including pumps, turbines, boilers, HRSG equipment, etc.

Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation (CCGT, EfW, Biomass), petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.

Knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR)

Excellent communication skills with proven ability of leading teams

Proven ability in leading a team of engineers & technicians
