Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market-leading company, to recruit for an Electrical Technician to work at their Energy from Waste Power Station near Deptford, Southeast London. If you’re an experienced Electrical Technician and are looking to work for a leading organisation who invests in training and professional development of their employees, then upload your CV to apply today.                   Responsibilities and duties Reporting to Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for:  
  • Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance work on PLC controlled equipment, HV/LV systems, motors, pneumatic systems and variable speed drives
  • Completing routine inspections and undertaking preventative maintenance work as part of preventative maintenance management, to ensure equipment is consistently in good condition.
  • Ensuring maintenance work is properly recorded on the site CMMS
  • To liaise with outside contractors on specific repairs / maintenance work
  • Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety
Please note: This role will be working on a day-shift basis where you will be working up to 7 days per week in a row with rest days after.     Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • A time served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar.
  • A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity
    Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge The Electrical Technician role would suit someone who has:  
  • Prior electrical maintenance experience in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant, paper mill, FMCG etc
  • Experience maintaining and fault finding on motors, variable speed drives, switchgear and HV/LV systems
  • Experience maintaining instrumentation equipment such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, flow metres, CEMS, etc.
  • A flexible approach to working routines as this is shift work
