The Document Controller role comes with a salary of up to £40,000 + medical insurance + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Document Controller role
As the Document Controller you will:

Manage the registration, numbering, distribution, and tracking of all project-related documentation in line with company standards.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and hard copy filing systems to ensure efficient retrieval of documents.

Administer and oversee the PIRS Document Management System, ensuring consistent document control practices across the project.

Support project and engineering teams by ensuring timely access to current, approved documentation.

Monitor document workflows, ensuring revisions and approvals are properly tracked and archived.

Ensure all controlled documents comply with internal and client quality standards and contractual requirements.

Coordinate document transmittals between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

Conduct regular audits of document control systems to verify accuracy and compliance.

Provide training and guidance to project staff on document management procedures and best practices.

Support the continuous improvement of document control processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Qualification in Information Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Proven experience in document control within large-scale engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.

Proficiency with document management systems such as PIRS, Aconex, EDMS, or equivalent platforms.

Strong understanding of document numbering systems, revision control, and metadata management.

Valid CSCS, CCNSG, or equivalent site safety certification (desirable).
