Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company, to recruit for a Project Manager, ideally with strong mechanical process knowledge, to oversee a major heat off-take project at their Energy from Waste Power Station in Croydon, South London.
The vital Project Manager comes with a competitive basic salary + bonus + benefits. The role will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis until the end of Q1, 2027.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for:

Contributing towards the selection of contract execution strategy and make recommendations for most effective delivery strategy

Coordinate production of basis of design and optioneering exercises to ensure clear definition of project scope of words

Oversee the successful delivery of all aspects of the design, procurement and execution of the project

Ensure the project if delivered in accordance with all technical, HSE, legislative and budget requirements

Coordinate interfaces with operations and the Energy Services Company (ESCo) to ensure smooth integration of the ERF’s heat recovery equipment and the ERFs heat pipe to ensure both heat off-take and supply are provided in accordance with the agreement

Develop, maintain and coordinate the project execution programmes

Generate and secure CAPEX cost application requests and maintaining approved budgets undertaking regular variance analyses and forecasting

Coordinate with all project stakeholders and lead regular meetings with effective agendas

Manager the contractual relationship with client’s consultants and ensure the consultant is performing in accordance with the agreement
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Ideally degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH will be advantageous
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
The Project Manager role would suit someone who has:

Prior full project lifecycle experience on similar projects (CHP, Energy from Waste, Biomass, District Heating, etc) from design phase through to execution

Excellent contract management experience

Ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders

Possessing a good mechanical process engineering background (understanding steam turbines, heat off-take pipes, etc)
