Astute’s Power Team is partnered with a market leading Energy company to recruit a Mechanical Technician for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Ardley, Oxfordshire.
The crucial Mechanical Technician role comes with a basic salary of £44,013, a partial shift allowance of £2,131 (when working on call 1 in 4 weeks) + a home counties living allowance + overtime + 10% Bonus.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer you will be:

Fault finding and maintaining mechanical assets including pumps, gearboxes, valves, steam boilers, etc.

Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices

To ensure compliance with the pressure regulations and lifting gear inspection requirements

Assisting in plant developments and projects

Supervising and setting to work on site contractors

Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site CMMS

Assist in outage planning, scheduling and coordination

To ensure the availability of plant spares
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
Ideally have an NVQ Level 3 minimum in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineering
Prior experience and skills:
The Mechanical Technician role would suit someone who is:
-
Prior experience of hands-on maintenance with mechanical systems including pumps rotating equipment, compressors, gearboxes, cranes, steam boilers, etc

Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment such as power generation, petrochemical, steel works, CHP plant, paper mill etc.

Royal Navy Marine Engineers will also be considered
