I had applied for an advertised job and called to ask some questions. Dan wasn't available at the time, but returned my call that same morning. He found my application and had a quick look over my info. He explained how proceedings normally go, but said that my CV and cover letter were that good that he would complete an initial interview there and then since we were on the phone. After the phone call I felt quite relived that there was seem a real chance that Dan could help me out if not with this application then possibly in the future.
