Astute’s Power team is partnering with a major UK engineering and infrastructure contractor to recruit Site Engineers for long-term contract assignments on complex defence and marine civil engineering projects in Plymouth.
The Site Engineer role comes with a competitive day rate, negotiable depending on experience.
Key skills

Experience working as a Site Engineer within heavy civils or large infrastructure projects

Strong background in concrete structures, structural repair, and refurbishment works

Experience with setting out, QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built surveys

Ability to coordinate engineering activities across direct labour and subcontractors

Experience managing NCRs, technical queries, and quality compliance processes

British National due to Security Clearance requirements

Local to Plymouth or commutable distance preferred

Details
The project involves long-term refurbishment and upgrade works within a live operational environment, including structural repairs, asset life-extension activities, and infrastructure improvements across a major marine engineering framework.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of reinforced concrete works, structural strengthening, infrastructure upgrades, and maintenance activities while ensuring engineering quality, safety, and programme requirements are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
