Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with one of the UK leaders in enhanced metal solutions across the Space, Aviation and Defence markets. We are looking to recruit a Polisher for its Newcastle-upon-Tyne site.   The Polisher role comes with an hourly rate of £15.19 per hour, up to £360 quarterly production bonus and pension match.   If you’re a Polisher and are looking to work for a growing organisation in the metals sector, then submit your CV to apply today.     Responsibilities and duties of the Polisher role   Reporting to the Workshop Manager you will:  
  • Polish finished components, including 80-grit belt, sateen, super sateen, and mirror finish.
  • Operate polishing equipment..
  • Use inspection tools like verniers, micrometers, PI tapes, and CMM.
  • Inspect incoming parts, outgoing products, subcontracted work, and purchased components.
  • Conduct process audits.
  • Identify and report non-conforming parts.
  • Enter technical inspection data into spreadsheet software.
    Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Proven experience as a Metal Polisher, desirably in a highly regulated industry.
  • An awareness of the relevant Health and Safety regulations

Site Manager £350 per day 6 month contract  Hampshire  Call notes: The Role:
  • 3-6 months min contract 
  • perm or freelance
  • £55-60k Perm
  • £280-350 a day but flexible on the rate 
  • open to experience, would be happy with someone more junior on a lower rate or someone more senior on a higher rate
  • no preferences on industry background, building fit out and civils would be ideal, both would be great or either or is good too. They work in a lot of different areas so not fussy on background 
  • experience of dockyard already is great
