Astute’s Renewables team are looking for a number of people in the UK biogas market at the moment, with a key role being for a niche Asset Maintenance Manager. The client is one of a number of owner / operators or a portfolio of biogas assets and we’re ideally looking for someone in the southern central area.
This position is going to be very hybrid. The role is paying a salary relevant to experience and is to be confidentially discussed with Tim at Astute People.

Responsibilities and duties of the Asset Maintenance Manager role
Reporting to the Operational Lead you will:

Manage and be responsible for the cost-effective running and reliability of a portfolio of biogas assets

Be hands on when required to perform proactive and reactive maintenance across the portfolio

Manage contractual SLAs of the technology providers

Work with the existing teams to upskill on niche pieces of kit when you can

Continuously look at and develop the CMMS system, driving change when needed

Technically support on site O&M teams

Manage the inventory and critical spare parts across the portfolio

Be available, by phone, at weekends when necessary to provide support if required

Travel to sites to familiarise yourself with the equipment and gradually become the internal expert

Always look for ways to increase uptime and efficiencies of the plants

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

A higher education in a relevant field, ie mechanical engineering

Clean UK driving licence

Experience in a gas generating environment, ie biogas, biomethane, CHPs, compression or energy from waste plants
Personal skills
The Asset Maintenance Manager would suit someone who is:

Technical and capable of hands on maintenance as well as contract and contractor management

Flexible. Flexibility will be pretty key here to attend sites on occasion

Familiar with ATEX, DSEAR and COMAH (ideally)

Someone who is solutions and outcome-focussed
