Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Electrical Engineer role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering you will:

Lead the design and selection of power management systems for CHP and off-grid applications, including backup generator integration and load prioritization

Develop and troubleshoot off-grid solutions, ensuring power system reliability and resilience without mains power

Own and manage electrical networks, including HV/LV systems, switchgear operations and liaison with DNOs for import/export adjustments
-
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, support permit issuance, SSOW and manage ATEX installations and inspections

Support capital projects, collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to HAZOP studies, and participate in efficient, compliant asset creation
-
Mentor and develop team capabilities through SAP upskilling programs and assist in supervising technical staff.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), with experience in CHP, backup generation, and off-grid power systems

Strong knowledge of LV distribution design, electrical safety standards, and Health & Safety requirements for contractor engagement

Background in contractor/EPC environments, with hands-on experience managing suppliers and supporting capital projects

Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to various sites as required

Additional desirable qualifications: IOSH Managing Safely, CDM Regs awareness, and certified First Aid
