SHEQ Manager - Renewable Energy - Northern Ireland

Astute’s Team is partnering with a prestigious business in the green energy sector to recruit a SHEQ Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor for its site in Northern Ireland. The SHEQ Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor role comes with a salary of up to £35,000 and we are open to hearing from those who would work a full week (37.5 hours) or those who would be open to a part-time role of 30 hours+ per week. If you’re a SHEQ Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor and are looking to work for an organisation that who is at the forefront of the green energy transition then submit your CV to apply today.                 Responsibilities and duties of the SHEQ Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor role Reporting to the SHEQ Manager you will:  
  • Advising, documenting and making proactive recommendations for all aspects of SHEQ on the client’s site for both permanent and contractor members of staff
  • Promoting safe working practices in accordance with the company’s processes
  • Monitor activities on site for compliance with SHEQ policy, procedures and legal requirements
  • Carry out incident investigations and complete reports as necessary
  • Plan, review and action remedial work to comply with recommendations from audits or reports (from HSE, insurance company, line management etc)
  • Identify hazards, advise upon and coordinate risk reduction activities
  • Write and review RAMS
  • Monitor contractor H&S arrangements and advise where improvements may need to be made
  • Ensure the maintenance of the documented management systems(s) in the requisite format and maintain ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditation as required
Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Further education
  • Internal/lead auditing qualification is desirable
  • Good, relevant experience of a process environment if possible
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
Personal skills   The SHEQ Advisor / Health and Safety Advisor role would suit someone who is:  
  • Organised, meticulous and methodical
  • Someone who is detail-oriented
  • Experienced in utilities, renewable energy or a dirty process industry

  • Up to £35,000 depending on experience (or pro-rata if working less than full time hours)
