Astute’s Power team is partnering with a long-established energy provider with a commitment to professional development and operational excellence to recruit an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician for their 86MW power station in County Clare. 

The electrically biased EC&I Technician role comes with a competitive package including bonus scheme and is Monday to Friday working hours.

  Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical and Instrumentation Technician role Reporting to the E/I Supervisor, you will:
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation assets

  • Support operations across maintenance, civil, technical, and contractor management functions

  • Maintain accurate records using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Write and implement operational procedures and work instructions

  • Ensure all activities comply with safety and environmental standards

  • Take on authorised roles under site safety rules

  • Lead teams in a hands-on capacity during the absence of the team leader

     
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Time-served electrician with an apprenticeship and FETAC Level 6 (or equivalent)

  • At least 3 years' experience in electrical/control and instrumentation maintenance

  • Knowledge of HV, MV and LV systems, and E&I control systems

  • Proficient IT and communication skills with the ability to manage priorities

     
Personal skills The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician role would suit someone who is:
  • A proactive team player with the ability to work independently

  • Comfortable taking the lead and managing external contractors

  • Able to adapt across operational and technical service areas

  • Willing to support the station outside of regular working hours when needed
