Maintenance Manager

  Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading timber manufacturing company based in North Ayrshire who supply the UK and Irish markets with product for construction, pallet wood and fencing industries. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for all maintenance mechanical and electrical work, automation, site projects and maintenance systems on the sawmill site If you’re an experienced Maintenance Manager or lead looking to step up, with a background in timber processing and are looking to work for an organisation that puts integrity and people at the forefront of everything it does, then submit your CV to apply today.                     Responsibilities and duties Working as the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead the Maintenance team of fitters and electricians to deliver high performance process efficiency
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills to ensure performance of people and equipment is optimised.
  • Ensure the Maintenance function operates to the site required Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
  •  Planning and developing PEMAC / CMMS systems to deliver maximum line/process efficiency including energy, plant services and utilities.
  • Delivery of KPIs: downtime, uptime, PM schedules and workflow.
  • Responsible for cost management in the maintenance and engineering functions, delivering costs to weekly KPI budgets including energy and projects.
    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Qualification in Engineering – mechanical & electrical background
  • Knowledge of maintenance strategies e.g. RCM, TPM, Asset Management desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years’ maintenance/engineering management experience is essential; sawmilling or heavy industry experience is an advantage.
    Personal skills The Maintenance Manager role would suit someone who is:
