Astute’s Power team are recruiting for a Team Member (Maintenance Technician) to work at a Combined Cycle Power Station capable of generating 463MW. As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for the safe & efficient operation of the plant, including taking part in maintenance activities to maximise plant availability.   The strategically important Team Member role comes with a competitive salary, pension, shift allowance and other benefits including a bonus.  If you have a background in engineering and are looking to work in a Power Station for an organisation that puts integrity and people at the forefront of everything it does, then submit your CV to apply today.                    Responsibilities and duties As the Team Member / Maintenance Technician, will be responsible for:
  • Oversee the safe & efficient operation of the plant from the control working via a DCS system
  • Carry out first-line maintenance across the whole site this could include working on mechanical, electrical & C&I assets
  • Conduct plant inspections, adjustments and reporting any issues as and when identified
  • Adhering to HSE / Safety Rules / LOTO / Permit to Work System
  • Taking part in small plant projects such as plant upgrades & modifications
  • Supervising contractors
    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: • An ONC/NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering field such as Mechanical / Electrical or C&I Engineering. • Sufficient, appropriate and relevant engineering and maintenance experience within a similar role and process industry this can be from a Waste to Energy Plant, Biomass Plant, CCGT (Thermal Power Station), Refinery etc • First line maintenance experience across relevant discipline area (Process, Electrical, C&I, Mechanical). • Experience of operating within safety, environment and operational polices, standards, frameworks and statutory legislation. • IOSH (Managing Safely) or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a clear knowledge of safety practices and management.       Personal skills The Team Member/Maintenance Technician role would suit someone who is:  
  • Computer literate.

  • Able to work a varied shift pattern across days, nights, weekends and evenings.
