Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with a leading provider of complex engineering solutions and services to the nuclear energy, industrial and petrochemical sector, to recruit an Outage Lead to work across all EDF sites.
The Outage Lead position will play a vital role supporting the eight EDF sites during outages. This role comes with a salary of around £60,000 depending on experience, accommodation allowance and travel expenses, along with an opportunity to earn more through overtime.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Outage Lead you will:

Lead and manage statutory outages across nuclear facilities, ensuring efficient project execution.

Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and governance throughout operations.

Oversee budgets of £3.5M to £7M while addressing emergent work to minimise disruptions and maintain smooth operations.

Oversee the mobilisation and demobilisation of resources effectively.

Manage Industrial Relations (IR) to ensure smooth operations.

Collaborate with Station Directors, Plant Managers, Contract Managers, and the Management Team to align outage activities with operational objectives and ensure contractual and strategic goals are met.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

Proven experience in outage management, preferably within the nuclear sector.

IOSH certification or higher.

Financial acumen to manage significant budgets effectively.
