a leading provider of complex Engineering Solutions and services to the nuclear energy, industrial and petrochemical sector, to recruit a Project Director for its Derby office.
The Project Director position will lead a major nuclear new build EPC project and have responsibility for oversight of the entire project lifecycle and comes with a base salary upto £110,000 per annum, and a range of added benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the VP
you will:
- Directed the execution of a large-scale nuclear new build project, ensuring compliance with strategic goals, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Implemented and sustained robust project governance, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes.
- Developed and executed a comprehensive project plan, encompassing scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
- Ensured timely project delivery, within budget, and met the highest quality standards.
- Collaborated and communicated effectively with key stakeholders, including government agencies, regulatory bodies, contractors, and internal teams.
- Delivered regular project status updates to senior management and stakeholders, including progress reports, financial updates, and risk assessments.
- Prepared and presented comprehensive project reports for board meetings and external stakeholders.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP or Prince 2)
- New Build EPC experience using staged gate / RIBA approach on a brownfield site
- Nuclear Based experience
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management within the nuclear or energy sectors, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale EPC projects.

Salary and benefits of the Project Director role
