a leading provider of complex Engineering Solutions and services to the nuclear energy, industrial and petrochemical sector, to recruit a Planning Lead for its Warrington office.
The Project Controls Lead position will play a vital role within the project planning team and will manage/oversee the delivery of pre-construction P6 Programme, including constructability. It comes with a salary starting at £50,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Planning Lead you will:

Develop standardized P6 planning work packages using AIMS SOPs, Client Procedures, and referent knowledge to ensure consistency.

Create project-specific schedules, integrating activities across multifunctional teams, and iterating them through project stages up to Level 4 for execution.

Manage cost and resource-loaded P6 programs, monitoring progress and ensuring alignment with Client requirements for pre-construction and project execution.

Optimize project schedules by coordinating with suppliers, client functions, and stakeholders, providing regular updates to project management.

Proactively forecast and analyse project activities using EVA techniques, managing variations and maintaining accurate cost, resource, and schedule profiles.

Foster a collaborative, "best for project" mindset, ensuring open communication, stakeholder alignment, and adherence to AIMS standards and practices.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

Time Served Apprentice / NVQ level 2 / C&G - and / or suitable experience in construction engineering

HNC/HND (or equal) in an engineering or Project Management discipline.

Proficient in the use of P6 and cost/resource loading scheduling techniques.

Knowledge and application of construction methodologies across MEH scopes.

Personal skills:
The Planning Lead role would suit someone who has:

Ability to achieve SC status readily.

Minimum of 5 years senior planning lead experience, with direct reports and supplier oversight.

Commercial awareness, e.g. experience in Variation and Claims management with strong presentation and communication skills.
