I’ve always been drawn to people and genuine connections. I stepped into my first management role at 20, hiring and leading teams while discovering how much I enjoyed helping others grow. After that, I spent four years in sales, which strengthened my communication skills and deepened my passion for building relationships.

I then spent two years as a technical recruiter, partnering with companies on the Forbes Top 100 list — an experience that taught me the value of matching the right person to the right environment.

Eventually, I realized I wanted to be somewhere I could make a real impact on people’s lives, which led me to healthcare recruiting. Supporting you - nurses and helping you find opportunities that truly align with your goals is part of my job I’m most proud of.

I have been competing for the majority of my life and its just who I am. I went to X-ray school and went on further for MRI and CT. I still actively work in the medical field with a PRN position. I am a Chicagoan- born and raised! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and had the amazing opportunity to travel abroad to Florence, Italy. I have a background in restaurant public relations and marketing. I worked for a popular restaurant group based in Chicago and then opened my own marketing company. My favorite part of my job was creating relationships with my clients and the media and helping them get the word out about a special event or opportunity. Now, in my career as a travel nurse recruiter, I cherish every step from my initial conversation to placing them at their dream facility and setting them up to succeed during their travel experience!

Hi. I’m Zach Young. I am 30 years old, and I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with my bachelors in Advertising and minor in Marketing. Previous to TotalMed I worked for Coca Cola where I began as a merchandiser and worked my way to being a sales representative for almost 5 years. Now I am with TotalMed and couldn’t be happier.

I’m a wife and proud mom of two amazing kids, one just starting their college journey, and the other just starting Kindergarten! Life keeps me busy, but when I get a little spare time, I love being crafty and making things with my hands. Creativity keeps me grounded.

Music is another big part of my life. I especially love catching live bands, with smooth jazz and orchestras being my absolute favorites.

I have been recruiting travel nurses for over 3 years and love finding my nurses jobs that they love. While my nurses are on assignment, I want to make sure they feel advocated for and that they are fully supported. Some of my nurses I consider are like family to me now! I am from Pennsylvania and recently just moved down to North Carolina! I am a little monster for the BBQ down here now!

I have been in several industries over my work experience, and being a recruiter is honestly one of the best experiences and jobs I've ever had!
