Recruiting since: 2013
Travel Nurse Across America Birthdate: 08/12/2018
Hey guys, I'm Mike. My background is pretty diverse, so I figured I'd share a little about where I came from and where I am now.
I was born and raised in NJ in an Italian/Puerto Rican/American household with 5 siblings (all but one of us born one year apart). My dad is a retired college professor and my mom is an RN (with about 40 years experience) - and I'm a recruiter who takes an educational/informative/compassionate approach to my dealings with others. Strange how everything works out, huh?
I love to travel - solo or with friends/family! I moved to AZ in my early 20s and fell for the beauty of Tucson's desert landscape, then to Nevada for work, then to California for love. I've traveled all around the U.S., Europe and Central America, and speak pretty decent German ("Why German, Mike?" - ask me!). I love connecting with new people, new cultures and walking through places with an open mind and a sense of wonder.
We are in the business of serving others, so I thought I'd share this quote that resonates: "To make life a little better for people less fortunate than you, that's what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for oneself but for one's community." - Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Why I love recruiting...
You know, my high school guidance counselor didn't really talk about "recruiting" as a career path, but I feel like I was made for this! I get to meet new people whose profession I greatly respect (my mom is an RN, too), talk about and share experiences, solve problems, handle business in a complex industry, and still have fun doing it. Plus, the company I work with is second to none when it comes to doing right by our travelers!
When I'm not working, I love to...
Time with family is most important to me. I love to play guitar, drums, watch movies/TV, plays some video games (into the retro stuff mostly), read primarily fiction (currently reading "A Wild Sheep Chase" by Haruki Murakami - soooo goood!), work out at the gym (preferably with people - darn you, COVID!), cycling, rollerblading, et al.

Mike is the best. He is always available when I need him, and on a rare occasion when I can't reach him, he returns my call in a timely manner. If there is a question he can't answer, he will refer you to someone who can or find the answer and return to you. He makes time to check on his nurses and he shows genuine interest in their well being. I can speak with Mike about anything. Thank you Mike, I appreciate all you do. I'm lucky to have you as my recruiter.

LOVE MIKE!I followed Mike to TNAA. That should speak volumes. I came to him through a fellow traveler. He listened to my story, and also took a leap of faith. That was 4 years ago. He always worked to find me an assignment that fit my needs. He was transparent about contracts, pay packages, and facility information/ Feedback. If it didnt sound like a good fit for me, he still gave me the information, gave me his thoughts and let me come to my own decision. Even if i was on assignment with another company, he stayed in touch and was always willing to listen if i had a need. If I travel again, he's my guy!

I’ve worked with Mike for about 5 years. I’ve always felt like any problems I had, I could go to him and he would help me quickly even in busy times. I followed him to TNAA because I didn’t want to work with anyone else. I’ve always felt confident I could trust Mike and that he really cares about his nurses.

Mike would always try to get things done right the first time and advocate the best pay options and assignments. He was timely with his responses to any questions I had, or ones that I had forgotten to ask. If/when I take another assignment, I will definitely better talking with Mike!

I’ve never had anything but great experiences while working with Mike. He’s very transparent and open about the entire process. I’ve been travel nursing for years and worked with several companies in the past, some even offering higher rates but there’s a reason I keep going with Mike. He’s an excellent recruiter!

Mike is the BEST! He is always looking out for what suits me and not just any job opening. Keeps in touch and isn’t pushy, at all. He checks in randomly to make sure I’m happy with my assignments and at times just to check in to make sure all is well in general. He is also quick to get things resolved when ever there is a problem, which is seldom.

Mike is great, I've heard from a lot of other travel nurses about their recruiters and how many of them continuously have issues and feel like they don't address exactly what they want in a job. I have never had that issue with Mike; he is always up front and honest about jobs that are available and where I might be a good fit, while also keeping in mind the area I want to be and other job specifics important to me.
