Job Title: Accountant

Pay: $55,000 - $60,000 per year Hours: Weekdays, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Start Date: ASAP

Ready to put your accounting skills to work in a role where you can make a meaningful contribution? A growing organization in the Akron, Ohio area is looking for an Accountant to join its team and help maintain smooth, accurate financial operations.

In this position, you’ll play an important role in maintaining financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting activities, and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company procedures. You’ll partner with leadership on financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, data management, and other activities that support the organization’s overall success.

What You'll Do As the Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Record and review daily financial transactions while ensuring compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities to maintain accurate financial records.
• Maintain fixed asset and lease schedules, ensuring related information is processed and updated accurately.
• Assist with budgeting, tax filings, audit preparation, and other year-end financial requirements.
• Develop monthly financial analysis and reporting to provide management with information for business decisions.
• Support inventory accounting, ERP system implementations, and ongoing improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls.

What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have:

 

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Knowledge of month-end and annual close processes, including related reconciliations and adjustments.
• Experience maintaining fixed asset records and managing lease-related accounts.
• Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with ERP platforms and various financial/accounting applications.
• Strong analytical mindset with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
