As an Help Desk Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for users, playing a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals across our sites in Kansas City. You will ensure our users have the technology they need to serve the community effectively.
What You Will Do:
You will be responsible for:
Provide Tier 1 Technical Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for all technical customer support, promptly addressing and resolving user issues related to systems, desktops, and peripherals via phone or email.
Manage and Maintain End-User Systems: Perform operational maintenance, support, upgrades, and ensure the data integrity of all workstations, operating systems, and networked applications across multiple sites.
Ensure Compliance and Security: Conduct basic hardware/software audits and implement standard solutions to ensure all systems comply with established organizational policies and configuration guidelines.
Document and Escalate Issues: Accurately document, track, and manage all issues through closure, escalating complex technical problems to senior IT staff or management when necessary.
What You Will Bring (Requirements):
The ideal candidate for this essential Kansas City role will possess:
Education and Certification: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Computer Science (or 5 years of equivalent work experience), with the ability to obtain the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification within one year of hire.
Professional Readiness: Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass an employment drug screening and criminal background check.
Personal and Confidentiality Skills: Demonstrated self-motivation, the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and the capacity to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
Physical and Schedule Flexibility: Must be physically able to lift 40 pounds and accommodate the required work schedule, which includes on-call rotation, occasional travel, and working weekends.
