Duties and Responsibilities for Diesel Mechanic:
- Inspects equipment periodically to assess the need for maintenance and repair
- Replaces worn and damaged parts; disassembles equipment to check for issues and perform testing
- Reviews manufacturing guidelines and materials to ensure proper repairs
- Troubleshoot issues on various equipment including loaders, forklifts, trucks and shredder
- Cleans, lubricates and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles
- Informs management of status of repairs, future repair needs and other pertinent information
- Keeps accurate records of maintenance performed
- Run occasional errands to pick up parts as needed
- Adheres to all safety policies and standards
- Perform other duties or cross-training in other positions that may be assigned
Skills and Qualifications for Diesel Mechanic:
- 2+ years experience and/or training in heavy equipment repair required; diesel technology training/degree in lieu of experience
- Ability to handle physical demands of heavy equipment maintenance
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently and contribute as a successful team member
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. CDL preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
Job Details for Diesel Mechanic:
- Wages: $20-$28/hr DOE
- Schedule: Mon - Fri
- 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
