Experienced Millwright? Your skills are worth more — and this opportunity proves it.

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Millwright to join a premier wood-products manufacturer in Albany as a direct-hire employee.

Starting at $40.21/hour with the potential for an additional $3.00/hour shift differential, this is an opportunity for a skilled industrial mechanic who knows how to troubleshoot, repair, align, fabricate, and keep heavy production equipment running.

This isn't an entry-level maintenance job. You'll be working with hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, precision alignment, welding, fabrication, and large-scale industrial equipment in a fast-paced mill environment.

If you're the person everyone calls when the equipment goes down, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do
  • Respond to mill breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical issues to get equipment back online.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
  • Perform precision mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings, schematics, and work orders.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, equipment installation, and alignment.
  • Use laser alignment, torque, belt-tensioning, and other precision maintenance tools and techniques.
  • Partner with operators and maintenance teammates to identify equipment issues and improve reliability.
  • Investigate equipment failures and help determine root causes — not just temporary fixes.
  • Document maintenance and repair work using SAP.
  • Follow rigorous safety and lockout/tagout procedures while working around heavy industrial equipment.
What You’ll Have
  • Millwright Card OR 3+ years of verifiable industrial/commercial mechanic experience required.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience installing, aligning, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read mechanical and hydraulic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement and alignment tools.
  • Experience with predictive or reliability-centered maintenance practices is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety and proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to work in an active industrial environment that includes stairs, ladders, machinery, noise, dust, changing temperatures, and extended periods on your feet.
Why You’ll Love It
  • $40.21/hour starting pay.
  • Up to an additional $3.00/hour shift differential.
  • DIRECT HIRE — join the company from day one.
  • Profit-sharing potential.
  • 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule means more full days off throughout the month.
  • Put your skilled-trades experience to work on challenging industrial equipment.
  • Work for an established industry leader with long-term career opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Paid vacation and holidays.
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave.
  • Retirement plan with generous employer contributions.
  • Tuition reimbursement and continued learning opportunities.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and advance your career.
You Know How to Keep a Mill Running. Let’s Talk.

If you have the experience to diagnose a breakdown, tear into industrial equipment, find the problem, and get production moving again, your skills are in demand.

This is a direct-hire career opportunity offering excellent pay, strong benefits, and the chance to work with complex industrial equipment where your expertise matters every day.
