As a Mechanical Millwright, you'll be responsible for keeping heavy production equipment running smoothly. You'll work closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex machinery in a fast-paced industrial environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
What You'll Do
As a Mechanical Millwright, you will be responsible for • Responding to mill breakdowns and troubleshooting mechanical issues to restore equipment operation • Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and other industrial machinery • Performing precise mechanical and preventive maintenance using specialized tools and techniques • Reading and interpreting mechanical and hydraulic schematics, work orders, and technical drawings • Performing welding, fabrication, equipment installation, and alignment tasks • Utilizing laser alignment, torque, belt-tensioning, and other precision maintenance methods • Collaborating with operators and maintenance teammates to identify issues and enhance equipment reliability • Investigating failures, identifying root causes, and implementing long-term solutions • Documenting maintenance and repairs in SAP systems • Following strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures when working around heavy machineryWhat You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have • Millwright Card or 3+ years of verifiable industrial or commercial mechanic experience • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pumps, bearings, and gearboxes • Welding and metal fabrication expertise • Proven ability to install, align, repair, and maintain industrial equipment • Ability to read mechanical and hydraulic schematics and technical drawings • Familiarity with precision measurement and alignment tools • Experience with predictive or reliability-centered maintenance practices is a plus • Commitment to safety and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures • Ability to work in an active industrial environment that includes stairs, ladders, machinery, noise, dust, and extended periods on your feetWhy Join Us in Albany?
