We are seeking a Buyer Planner Inventory Coordinator for a temp-to-hire position for a local company who manufactures and assembles transducers, instrument transformers and voltage monitors.

The Buyer/Planner/Inventory Coordinator supports daily manufacturing operations by managing material planning, procurement, and inventory tracking. This role reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager and plays a critical role in ensuring materials are available, timelines are met, and communication flows between departments and suppliers.
As a Buyer Planner Inventory Coordinator you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with suppliers, Engineering, and Production to ensure timely material availability.
- Communicating regularly with Customer Service to align on delivery, quality, and technical requirements.
- Maintaining accurate commit dates in the ERP system and following through on open service line items.
- Interfacing with customers as needed to provide updates on milestones and delivery timelines.
- Supporting cost estimation for bills of material and expediting fees in collaboration with Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Analyzing MRP data and creating purchase orders based on buy/action reports; manage exceptions proactively.
- Resolving material receipt discrepancies, reducing shortages, and supporting supplier performance improvement.
- Monitoring and reporting on key metrics including: Capacity planning, Vendor OTD, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Requisition backlog, Inventory alignment.
The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and balance every day attention to detail with big-picture priorities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, OR equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 2+ years in a buying, planning, or inventory coordination role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting cross-functional teams including Engineering and Production is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.); ERP experience preferred (GrowthPower or similar program).
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with internal teams and suppliers.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and adapting to shifting production needs.
