Material Handler
Local Springfield company that manufactures metal parts such as plates, brackets, straps, coils, etc. is seeking a
Material Handler:
Duties and Responsibilities for Material Handler:
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, to move materials, products, and supplies to and from storage areas, production areas, and loading docks.
- Pull raw materials for production and deliver to punch press.
- Assist press operators with safely loading material.
- Anticipate material/packaging needs and deliver to punch press to minimize operator downtime.
- Recognize material damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Transfer finished pallets from punch press to staging location.
- Collaborate with various teams, including production, purchasing, and logistics, to coordinate the timely receipt, and interdepartmental transfer of materials as needed.
- Willingness to be flexible working indoor and outdoor as needed to retrieve production material.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and handling hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications for Material Handler:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler
- Valid Drivers License
- Previous Forklift certification
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in material handling.

Pay Rate:
$20.00 - 21.00 Per hour DOE
